One of our lifetime post members and past Commander of the Post, Richard White has passed away. Richard White was a great man, and a decorated Veteran! He spent 20 years in the Army and was also a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was the Post Commander here for 3 years! He certainly cared about his fellow veterans, and Rich was a dedicated man of service and tradition. Very sad day to hear about his passing on Oct. 27th. VFW Post 988 members and auxiliary members will miss you dearly. Condolences to the entire White family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service on Monday, November 4th at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Post 988, American Legion Post 94 or the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 2517.
